The Yamaha XVZ 1300 begins its history in 1983 with the release of the Yamaha XVZ 1200 Royal Star Venture touring model.

In 1986, the motorcycle was updated to the Yamaha Venture Royale (it gets a 1294 cc engine) and was produced unchanged until 1993. In 1996, the classic Yamaha XVZ 1300 Royal Star and its touring package, the Yamaha XVZ 1300 Royal Star Tour, were offered. In 1999, instead of the classic Royal Star (sold until 2001), the second generation Yamaha XVZ 1300 Royal Star Venture appeared, produced until 2013 - the motorcycle did not become a continuation of the "golden" Yamaha Venture Royale, but offered a more "iron" concept.

The XVZ1300 series was based on a V-shaped 4-cylinder liquid-cooled engine with a volume of 1294 cc. (since 1986), delivering 75-97 hp. power and 112-115 Nm of torque. The engine from the XVZ1200 model (1983-1985) was also installed on the [[Yamaha_V-max_1200 | Yamaha V-max 1200]] model.

The main features of the Yamaha XVZ 1300 series include a steel frame, a V4 engine, a 5-speed gearbox, a hydraulic clutch, a cardan drive and a number of special technologies in touring versions - air suspension, FM radio, radio, radio, electronic cruise control , built-in side trunks, etc.
