The Suzuki Intruder M1500 / Boulevard M90 was based on a frame from the flagship version [[Suzuki_Boulevard_M109R_ (Intruder_M1800R) | Suzuki Intruder M1800R / Boulevard M109R]] and a redesigned engine from [[Suzuki_VL1500_Intruder_]] , increased compression ratio, 4 valves per cylinder and a number of other improvements, which ultimately increased the maximum power to 106 hp and torque to 137 Nm.
In all other respects, the Suzuki Intruder M1500 / Boulevard M90 was very much like the M109R model - Suzuki's marketing ploy was to offer the market a cheaper alternative to the M109R, which would be as similar to it as possible.
