Honda CB1000 SF (Big-1)

The classic motorcycle Honda CB 1000 was first presented in 1991 at the 29th Tokyo Motor Show, and official series production began in 1992 in Japan. Since 1993, the model has been available in the European market, and since 1994 in the American market. Intra-Japanese models are called Honda CB1000SF (Super Four), export - Honda CB1000 (CB1000F).

Main competitors:

The motorcycle was based on the engine from the sports-touring version Honda CBR1000F, which was significantly reconfigured, reducing the maximum power to 93 hp. (97-99 hp - export versions) and torque up to 84 Nm (up to 89 Nm - export versions), making it fully available already at 6000 rpm.

Other features of the Honda CB1000 (CB1000SF) include a classic steel (tubular) frame, suspension in the form of a conventional telescopic fork with a diameter of 43 mm stays in front and a double shock absorber at the rear (adjustable for preload; and rebound - since 1994), disc 4- piston brakes, 18 'wheels, 23 l fuel tank (22 l - export versions) and 260 kg unladen weight.

The Honda CB1000 (CB1000SF) model was officially produced until 1996, after which it was discontinued. In 1998, a new model Honda CB 1300 was introduced as a successor. In 2007, Honda launched the 1 liter naked Honda CB1000R, which, despite the similarity of names, has nothing to do with the CB1000 / CB1000SF (Big-1) model.
