Honda SLR650

The Honda SLR 650 scrambler model appeared in 1997 in the Spanish division of Honda Montesa and was focused on sales in Europe. The model has positioned itself as a budget universal urban motorcycle that can comfortably move on roads of any quality - from asphalt to hard primers.

The Honda SLR 650 was based on a 1-cylinder air-cooled engine from Honda NX650 Dominator, which received a different camshaft, due to which the maximum power decreased to 39 hp, but the torque characteristic in the zone low revs. The volume of the engine is 644 cm³. It is equipped with one camshaft and has 4 valves.

Other features of the Honda SLR650 model include a steel tubular frame, simple long-travel suspension in the form of a telescopic fork at the front and a progressive swingarm with a monoshock at the rear, a 13-liter fuel tank, disc brakes, a 5-speed gearbox and 175 kg of curb weight.

2000 was the last year of production of the model, after which it finally left the market. The direct successor to the model was the Honda FX650 Vigor, which inherited the features of the SLR and was introduced in 1999. However, the SLR model, that Vigor, did not gain wide popularity and were quickly discontinued. At present, on the Russian market, the SLR650 is a rather rare and unpopular model, which is preferred mainly by connoisseurs of the series.
