Yamaha XVS1100 Drag Star / V-Star Classic

The Yamaha XVS 1100 Drag Star was introduced in 1999 as a replacement for the outdated Yamaha XV 1100 Virago. The motorcycle was based on the same engine as on Virago 1100, but with minor changes - in particular, new carburetors with throttle position sensors were used, which allowed slightly improved torque while maintaining power within 62 h.p. In addition, the XVS 1100 received a different frame, suspension and, accordingly, a more modern appearance.

In the North American market, the XVS1100 Drag Star was sold under the name “V-Star 1100”.

The main modifications of the Yamaha XVS 1100 Drag Star:

  • Yamaha XVS1100 Drag Star / V-Star Classic - a classic version with extended fenders, alloy wheels (V-Star from 2005, Drag Star - spokes) and a wide front tire (130).
  • Yamaha XVS1100 Drag Star / V-Star Custom - version with shortened drag-style fenders, spoke wheels and a narrow front tire (110 mm).
  • Yamaha XVS1100 Silverado - available since 2003. Same as Classic + side trunks, windscreen and passenger backrest.
  • Yamaha V-Star 1100 Midnight Custom - available since 2005 for the US market. Differs in the minimum amount of chrome and black color.

The Yamaha XVS1100 Drag Star model was produced until 2011, after which it was discontinued and finally replaced with an updated model - Yamaha XVS 1300 Drag Star. In 2009, Yamaha XVS 950 was introduced as a junior model.
