Engine
As of 2019, the KTM 450 SX-F engine features a more compact cylinder head. It is 15mm lower and 500g lighter than the 2018 model. The motocross bike is equipped with a Pankl transmission, 44mm throttle body, new ECU cards, lithium-ion starting battery, modified air intake. In addition, the traction control function has been improved and the launch control has been reconfigured. The KTM 450 SX-F delivers power smoothly and predictably. The SX-F has two modes of operation, which are activated by a dedicated switch on the left side of the steering wheel.
Suspension
The SX and XC come with a WP XACT fork and rear shock, while the W and EXC come with XPLOR suspension. In particular, the Factory Edition fork has calibrated pistons for tighter mating, which makes it possible to increase the pressure in the forks. The rear shock has a preload adjuster for more precise adjustment. The traverses resemble the Xtrig traverse structure, but the aluminum profile is much more rounded and more milled in the center sections.
