Suzuki TU250 (Volty, Grasstracker)
Suzuki TU250 Volty was first introduced in 1994 for the Japanese domestic market, and was marketed under the name Suzuki Volty. In 1997, the company releases an export version, which is marketed as '' Suzuki TU250X (Volty prefix only in some countries). Both models are identical to each other and are essentially the same motorcycle.
In 2000, the scrambler version “Suzuki Grasstracker”, which is available only in the Asian market, was added to the model line. In parallel, a version of the Grasstracker Big Boy was also offered, which featured oversized wheels. Factory designations of modifications: TU250G and TU250GB (Big Boy). In 2001, this modification received an electric starter, and in 2004 - a new 2-valve engine and an exhaust system with one pipe (instead of two). In 2008, the model gets an injector, an increased fuel tank and some other small changes, sold until 2018.
In the early 2000s (2001-2002), the Japanese and export Volty models were discontinued, and in 2004 the successor to the Volty, the Suzuki ST250, appeared in the domestic Japanese market. Changing slightly the exterior, the model also gets a new engine, which is now equipped with a simpler cylinder head with 2 valves (instead of a 4-valve). In 2008, the ST250 undergoes a restyling, the main change of which was the appearance of an injector (instead of a carburetor) and a fully transistorized ignition system (instead of CDI). The archaic kick starter finally gave way to the electric starter. In 2009, the restyled ST250 became available in export markets, sold under the old name - Suzuki TU250X .
2018 was the last year for domestic sales of the ST250 and Grasstracker, while the export version of the Suzuki TU250X is still available in the North American and Australian markets.
