The Honda Rebel 300 cruiser was first introduced in 2016 at the IMS show in the United States. The motorcycle positioned itself as a replacement for the obsolete motorcycle Honda Rebel 250, produced practically unchanged since 1985. Official sales of the Honda Rebel 300 began in 2017.
Simultaneously with the release of the Honda Rebel 300, the older version Honda Rebel 500 was introduced, which had the same frame and chassis, but differed in a 2-cylinder in-line engine installed on many modern Honda 500 cc motorcycles - Honda CBR500R, Honda CB500F and Honda CB500X. The younger version of the Honda Rebel 300 inherited the 1-cylinder engine from the model Honda CBR300R, which was slightly reconfigured, which the whole range.
Unlike Honda CMX250 Rebel, the new Honda Rebel 300 gets classic bobber features and a more modern look: instead of spoked wheels - cast wheels, instead of chrome parts - matte black paint, instead of a drum rear brake - disc. On the technical side, the most noticeable differences were electronic fuel injection, liquid cooling, a 6-speed gearbox, a fully electronic instrument panel and ABS. Passenger footpegs, saddle, luggage accessories and windshield are available as options.
However, the most important competitive advantage of the Honda Rebel 300 is its price - the base version starts at just $ 4,399 in the US.
