Suzuki GSR 400 has been on sale since May 2006 and was targeted at the domestic Japanese market. The model is based on the export version Suzuki GSR 600, differing from it mainly in the engine and exhaust system. Otherwise, these are almost identical models.
Lineup:
Main competitors:
- Kawasaki ER-4N (2-cylinder)
- Honda CB500F (2-cylinder)
Suzuki GSR 400 was based on a 4-cylinder in-line liquid-cooled engine with a volume of 398 cc, producing 53 hp. power and 37 Nm of torque. Since 2009, the model has received an upgraded fuel injection system and an ECM (Engine Control Module), increasing engine performance to 61 hp. and 39 Nm. The motor is not a stand-alone development, but was transferred from the GSR600 model, which in turn uses the Suzuki GSX-R600 engine.
Other features of the Suzuki GSR400 include an aluminum frame, powerful 4-piston front brakes, versions with ABS (from 2012 - standard equipment), adjustable suspensions, a 16 liter fuel tank, a 6-speed gearbox and 215 kg of gross weight ( on versions with ABS).
2017 was the last year of production for the Suzuki GSR 400, after which it rolled off the assembly line. Currently, the model is widely available at Japanese auctions, but in Russia the motorcycle is quite rare. This is due to the high cost, which is comparable to the price of GSR600, which somewhat reduces the economic feasibility of the purchase.
