Compared to Kawasaki ZZ-R1100, the new model has received a number of technical differences:
- New engine. Increased its displacement (1052 → 1164 cc), lowered the compression ratio (11.0 → 10.6) and generally increased traction at low and medium revs, also increasing the maximum power to 155 hp.
- New look. The motorcycle received a modern design and specific optics of front and rear lights.
- Fuel tank. Reduced capacity (24 → 23 l).
- Pendants. Features and settings have been changed.
- Transmission. Reduced gear ratio of the first two gears.
- Curb weight. Increased by 2 kg compared to the last generation of the previous model (269 → 271 kg).
