The sports-touring motorcycle model Kawasaki ZZ-R 400 was first introduced in 1990, in parallel with the release of the "older" model - Kawasaki ZZR 600, in contrast to which the ZZR400 was officially sold only in Japan and was not exported. Meanwhile, the efforts of gray importers have made the Kawasaki ZZR 400 very popular outside of Japan, in particular, due to the low cost and wide availability of the model in Russia. Japanese auctions still offer a huge selection of Kawasaki ZZR 400s from different generations and years of production, despite the fact that official sales were completed in 2007.
Lineup:
Main competitors:
Motorcycle was based on the base from Kawasaki ZZR 600 and almost the same engine, differing only in volume, intake system (carburetors with a smaller diffuser) and the absence of an oil cooler, even the Kawasaki ZZR 400 generations completely coincide with the generations Kawasaki ZZR 600 (except for the 3rd generation, when Kawasaki ZX-6R 2000-2000) was actually sold in America under the ZZR600 brand.
The features of the Kawasaki ZZR 400 include an aluminum frame, adjustable (since 1995) suspension in the form of a conventional telescopic fork and mono-shock absorber, a 6-speed gearbox, an inertial boost system (since 1993), a 16-liter fuel tank (first generation) and 195 kg dry matter (first generation).
Generations:
- Kawasaki ZZR400 (1990-1992) - first generation. Factory designation - ZX400K. The model is distinguished by a dashboard without a fuel sensor, a 16-liter fuel tank, no inertial boost (Ram-Air) and a power of 58 hp.
- Kawasaki ZZR400 (1993-2007) - second generation. Factory designation - ZX400N. The model is distinguished by a dashboard (there is a fuel sensor), a 17-liter fuel tank, an inertial boost system and a power of 53 hp. (due to changes in Japanese law).
