Kawasaki Z800 was first introduced at Intermot in 2012 as the successor to the Kawasaki Z750. The motorcycle was available in the markets of Europe, Oceania and Southeast Asia, and production was moved to Thailand.
Lineup :
Main competitors:
It was based on the updated engine from Z750 with a volume increased to 806 cm³, increased compression ratio (up to 11.9) and a new Mikuni injection system (instead of Keihin). As a result, the engine began to produce up to 113 hp. power and up to 83 Nm of torque. Maximum performance - from 8000 to 10000 rpm.
The main changes compared to the previous model concerned the design of the motorcycle itself, the exhaust and the dashboard. On the technical side, in addition to the engine, the model received the following changes:
- Brakes. The disc diameter is increased to 310 mm and the calipers become 4-piston.
- Suspension. The rear suspension gets preload and rebound adjustments.
- Fuel tank. The capacity decreases from 18.5 to 17.0 liters.
- Generator. The power is increased to 30A (instead of 24A).
Modifications:
- Kawasaki Z800 - regular version (numbers ZR800A, ZR800B - with ABS).
- Kawasaki Z800e - Reduced power (numbers ZR800C, ZR800D - with ABS). It features a limited power of 95 hp. and 76 Nm of torque, unregulated fork and monoshock adjustable only in preload.
2016 was the last year of production of the model, after which it left the market. In 2017, a successor would be introduced - Kawasaki Z900.
