Kawasaki ZZR600 (ZX600J) 2006-2008

Kawasaki ZZR 600 appeared in 1990, replacing Kawasaki GPX600, and was focused primarily on the American and European markets. In Japan, this model is poorly represented and rarely found at auctions, for their domestic market a version Kawasaki ZZ-R400 was proposed, which is based on the "older" model - Kawasaki ZZ-R600.

Lineup:

Main competitors:

In different countries, this model could have different names. For example, ZX600 or ZX-6 Ninja. That is why the Kawasaki ZZ-R600 is often confused with the sporty Kawasaki ZX-6R, but the early versions (1995-1999) of this model were very different in appearance from the Kawasaki ZZR 600. The only exceptions are the models since 2006, intended for the North American market - under the name ZZR 600 there was sold a sports model Kawasaki ZX-6R 2000-2002.

The Kawasaki ZZR 600 was based on an in-line 4-cylinder liquid-cooled engine producing up to 100 hp. power and up to 66 Nm of torque. The engine is high-speed, maximum performance is reached at 9500-12000 rpm.

The features of the Kawasaki ZZR 600 include an aluminum frame, adjustable suspension in the form of a conventional telescopic fork and a mono-shock absorber, a 6-speed gearbox, an inertial pressurization system (since 1993), an 18-liter fuel tank and 195 kg of dry weight.

Generations:

  • Kawasaki ZZR600 (ZX600D) - the first generation. Produced from 1990 to 1992. It features a dashboard (no fuel sensor) and no inertial boost (Ram-Air).
  • Kawasaki ZZR600 (ZX600E) - second generation. Produced from 1993 to 2000. The model is equipped with inertial supercharging (air ducts under the headlight) and has a different dashboard (fuel gauge on the left).
  • Kawasaki ZZR600 (ZX600J) - third generation. Produced from 2006 to 2008. for the North American market. In fact, this is the same Kawasaki ZX-6R 2000-2002. (factory designation - ZX600J).
