Kawasaki KX450 (KX450-J) 2019+

The Kawasaki KX450F motocross bike model was first introduced at the 2005 MX tournament in Japan, where critical problems in the frame design immediately surfaced, due to which the start of official sales was postponed for a year, and after the problem was resolved. by 2006, the Kawasaki KX450F officially went into production.

Lineup

Main competitors:

The new model positioned itself as a replacement for the 2-stroke version of Kawasaki KX500 (replacement of 2-stroke crosses with 4-stroke ones was observed in all representatives of the Japanese "four") and as a flagship in the line of cross bikes.

In the first year, the model received quite a lot of criticism from experts who, along with the excellent engine, noted the poor configuration of the suspensions and the geometry of the motorcycle itself. In addition, the 4-speed gearbox caused a lot of confusion, which, by the way, Kawasaki replaced with a 5-speed gearbox by the next (2007) year.

In 2009, the Kawasaki KX450F undergoes restyling, the main innovations of which were the use of an injector. The engine increased the compression ratio, and the fuel tank capacity was slightly reduced: 7.2 → 7.0 liters.

The next major change to the model came in 2012. The motorcycle received a new frame, new engine settings, a slightly reduced front wheel width (90 / 100-21 → 80 / 100-21), a reduced fuel tank (7.0 → 6.2 L) and a Launch Control Mode ).

For 2016, the Kawasaki KX450F is redesigned with an updated look, new engine and chassis settings, a new Showa SFF-Air front fork and a new front brake disc (new shape, increased size: 250 → 270 mm).

In 2019, Kawasaki introduced a completely new generation of the model, which now does not have the letter F in its name - the KX450. In addition to the exterior, the model received a new fork, a new rear shock absorber, a hydraulic clutch, an electric starter, new engine and injector settings (increased throttle diameter).

The "younger" brother of the model is Kawasaki KX250F.
